Cabalen was established in 2008 by food purveyors Martin and Glecy Yabut both of whom were former cooks of two other Filipino restaurants in Hercules for over 8 years. An opportunity came up when management change took place at the last restaurant prompting the family open their own restaurant with their daughter Carmela Delos Santos and her husband Alenbert Delos Santos.
